Georgia state law (DECAL / Bright from the Start) requires the following at or before your child's first day:

• Georgia Immunization Certificate (Form 3231) — completed by your pediatrician or local health department
• Certified Birth Certificate — to verify your child's legal name and date of birth
• Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental & Nutrition Screening (Form 3300)—required for Pre-K enrollment
• Completed Enrollment Packet—includes emergency contacts, medical history, and authorized pick-up list
• Parent/Guardian Photo ID—government-issued ID presented at enrollment

If your child has a medical condition, allergy, or requires special accommodations, also bring documentation from your pediatrician.

Yes — M&S Magical Stars is a CAPS-accepted provider at both our Ellenwood and Locust Grove locations. The Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program through Georgia DECAL helps qualifying low-income families cover childcare costs.

To apply, visit caps.decal.ga.gov or contact your local CAPS office. Once approved, bring your authorization letter to us and we'll handle the rest.

We welcome children from 6 weeks through 12 years old (through 5th grade) at both locations. Our programs include:

• Infant Care — 6 weeks to 1 year
• Toddler Program — 1 to 2 years
• Preschool — 2 to 4 years
• Pre-Kindergarten — age 4
• After-School & Summer Camp — K through 5th grade

The health and safety of every child in our care is our top priority. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication before returning. We follow all Georgia DECAL and Bright from the Start guidelines on illness exclusion and readmission.

If your child becomes ill while in our care, we will contact you immediately. Please always keep your emergency contact information current.

We meet or exceed all Georgia DECAL staff-to-child ratio requirements by age group:

• Infants (6 wks – 12 mos): 1 staff per 6 children
• Toddlers (13 mos – 2 yrs): 1 staff per 8 children
• Preschool (2 – 3 yrs): 1 staff per 10 children
• Pre-K (4 yrs): 1 staff per 15 children

Yes! In addition to our infant-through-Pre-K programs, M&S Magical Stars offers before & after-school care and summer camp for school-age children in kindergarten through 5th grade.
